Fred Eaglesmith tells tales, tall tales, short tales, true tales, and mythological tales. Tales of winners and losers and cheats and angels. Tales that make you smile, laugh, mourn, cry, and wonder.

Like all good story-telling, the truth becomes irrelevant and we happily climb aboard and enjoy the ride: never really sure where we are going, but just hoping that we are in good hands (knowing full well we are not but enjoying the journey anyway).

This EP started out as a bit of a joke. We do a lot of Fred songs in our live shows, often joking about how we should just become a Fred Eaglesmith cover band and wouldn't it be funny to put out a "tribute album".

We didn't really feel up to starting our new record, and were looking to kick-start the process with a small project and figured we'd bang out a quick and dirty EP. Didn't work out that way. It never does. So, 4 months of work and the result is Half a Tank of Gas & a Full Case of Beer.

There are so many great Eaglesmith songs this could have been a 20-50song recording but you have to draw the line somewhere. These seven stands out as some of our very favourites.
